Aston Villa vs Cardiff

This will be a tough one to call in my opinion because Villa haven’t been that great at home whilst Cardiff will have been buoyed by that win in the Welsh derby last Sunday.

Villa will have to start winning more games at home if they do not want to be pulled into a relegation scrap.

For Cardiff it is games like these that they should be looking to win in order for them to stay in this division.

With that in mind and the fact Villa are at home, I am going to say this will be a draw.

Prediction: Aston Villa 1-1 Cardiff

Chelsea vs West Brom

Chelsea were impressive in the Champions League in mid-week but will still feel that they have to answer to their critiques in the Premier League due to that defeat by Newcastle last weekend.

Mourinho has gone tough on his players in recent weeks, notably Eden Hazard, who wasn’t played on Wednesday, due to him being late for an important training session.

West Brom won their last game against a woeful Crystal Palace side. This will be a much tougher test. They will struggle in this game and will need to take opportunity that they can.

Prediction: Chelsea 3-1 West Brom

Crystal Palace vs Everton

Keith Millen is still in charge at Palace, who look no closer to naming their new manager. It is as though nobody wants the job.

They will struggle again this weekend against an Everton side that got a good point against Spurs last weekend.

Everton have got a better squad this season, which gives Roberto Martinez a chance to freshen things up and feel comfortable when doing so. This should be an Everton win.

Prediction: Crystal Palace 1-2 Everton

Liverpool vs Fulham

Liverpool’s main aim will be to bounce back from that confidence shattering defeat by Arsenal last weekend. It would be easy for them to falter against a struggling Fulham side. They need to show that they are not the Liverpool of the past few years and not feel the effects of a big loss for a few weeks after it has happened.

Their defence shape of having three at the back did not work against Arsenal last weekend, so it will be interesting to see if Brendan Rodgers switches it up at the back.

Martin Jol remains under pressure with Fulham, this game might head towards him getting the boot, but I can’t see how it would be fair to him if it does as Anfield is a tough place to go and win his next three games, home to Swansea, away to West Ham and at home to Spurs will decide.

He also should also consider giving the captains armband to somebody like Scott Parker or Steve Sidwell and not Dimitar Berbatov, who yes has the skill but, lacks the desire to win that Fulham desperately need right now.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Fulham

Southampton vs Hull

Southampton have been a joy to watch this season and have been rewarded with three of their players getting called into the England squad for next week’s friendlies.

As long as everyone at the club keeps a level head they will cause a surprise this season.

Hull have also done well this season. Steve Bruce has really shown his experience as a Premier League manager and it is paying major dividends for the Tigers.

The only thing they seem to be lacking is goals. They really need to score more. It will be tough however in this game as Southampton don’t concede many.

For Southampton, if they want to stay amongst the top pack, they will need to win the games like these and I think they will.

Prediction: Southampton 2-0 Hull.

Norwich vs West Ham

This is a must win game for Chris Hughton and his side.

The Canaries shipped seven away to Man City last weekend and were awful and both ends of the field.

Hughton deserves time to turn this team around and gain momentum to push out of the relegation places. For that they will need the strikers to start scoring, something they seem to be struggling to do at the moment.

West Ham have improved away from home, they themselves don’t seem to have a really serious goal threat at the moment so, and I can see this one ending in a no-score draw.

Prediction: Norwich 0-0 West Ham

Tottenham vs Newcastle

Newcastle got a brilliant result against Chelsea last weekend. They were tactically great and that was all down to Alan Pardew, who has also been under pressure to get results at the moment.

Tottenham are a very strong side, with a good depth to their squad. Only thing is they barely score any goals.

Their service to £26million man Roberto Soldado hasn’t been the best and that is why he has only scored one goal from open play this season.

The way the Spurs system works, he looks like they only striker that they can play as Jermaine Defoe, although a great finisher, would be in a similar situation if played upfront on his own.

I think Spurs will win, due to their strength in depth, but it will be a tight one.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-1 Newcastle

Sunderland vs Man City

Sunderland had a confidence boost in midweek with a win in the Carling Cup over Southampton, but Manchester City need to improve away, and quickly, so I don’t see them throwing this one away.

The Black Cats lack the fire power to break Man City’s defence, even though it is severely weakened without captain Vincent Kompany.

I think Pellegrini will stick with Pantillimon in goal, after he again showed he could do a decent job in the Champions League.

They have struggled away from home this season so far, this is the time for them to silence the critics.

Prediction: Sunderland 0-2 Man City

Man United vs Arsenal

For Arsenal this is their fourth big test in a row. Besides losing to Chelsea they have done brilliantly, beating Liverpool and Dortmund in this past week, this however will be the toughest test of them all.

It will be a very tight game. With critics saying that Arsenal will struggle to win the league- I think a lot of it will mount on this fixture.

They are doing very well, considering the way that they started the season, and with their injured players such as Walcott and Oxlade-Chamberlain on their way back, it will only improve their chances further.

Man United have also improved in recent weeks after a poor start. They still look like they are focusing more on not getting beaten rather than winning games. They have proved however, that they can still score lots of goals.

Arsenal are decent away and Man United cannot afford to lose this game, for me this will end it a draw.

Prediction: Man United 2-2 Arsenal

Swansea vs Stoke

                                      

I think Swansea will bounce back from their defeat in the Welsh derby last week and their frustrating draw in the Europa League with victory over Stoke this Sunday.

Stoke haven’t got many goals in them. It took their goalkeeper Asmir Begovic to score a somewhat rather fluky goal against Southampton in their last game. Making him joint top scorer for the Potters this season.

Swansea also seem to struggle to find the net. The ball seems to stick too much in their midfield rather than being effective in that final third of the pitch.

They will have to utilize their possession on Sunday if they are to beat Stoke.

Prediction: Swansea 2-0 Stoke

Newcastle vs Chelsea

A good start will be vital for Newcastle in this game as they will have to be on their game against Chelsea when they visit St James’ Park for the lunchtime kick off on Saturday.

Pardew’s men were very unlucky in my opinion to lose to Man City in the cup in midweek, having taking them into extra time, now it is time for them to really show what they are made of and prove to themselves, the manager and most prominently they owner, Mike Ashley what they are made of.

However, no test comes as hard as the stern test Chelsea will give them. Very good against league leaders Arsenal in the cup, they proved what great form they are in and Torres is looking like he is showing glimpses of his old self. Question everyone will be asking is can him and they as a squad keep it up throughout the course of the season. Personally for this game, I think they will.

Prediction: Newcastle 1-3 Chelsea

Fulham Vs Man Utd

Manchester Utd showed they may be back on track after coming from behind twice to beat Stoke at Old Trafford, and this match will be a big one for David Moyes side.

They looked in quite a lot of panic for most of that game with Stoke; you have to wonder whether the pressure of a new manager and back team staff is somehow managing to affect the players.

They had their fans to thank for geeing them up, which they may well have to do again this weekend as Craven Cottage is not an easy place to go.

The Cottagers were taken apart by Southampton last week, showing a very poor and weak performance. They are in bad form and really need a spark to set their season a light; sadly I don’t think it will come here.

Prediction: Fulham 0-2 Man Utd

Hull vs Sunderland

Hull have shown some class this week. Playing Tottenham twice and narrowly losing both games is no mean feat for Steve Bruce side, especially seeing as the first win was from a penalty that should not of have been and the second losing on a penalty shootout.

They have been very good all season, mainly down to the manager bringing in quality players who know they are going to be in for a fight, and they are showing great spirit in their games.

Sunderland finally got their win they’ve been waiting for last week, and they played fantastically well against their local rivals Newcastle.

My only worry is that they played well A) because they were at home in front of their own fans with a new manager for the first time and B) it was Newcastle that they were playing.

They need Steven Fletcher to stay fit in order to survive in my honest opinion; it will be tricky this game and Hull will be up for the fight. I am going to say score draw.

Prediction: Hull 2-2 Sunderland

Man City vs Norwich

Man City will be hoping not to have a repeat performance of this fixture last year when they were totally outplayed by Norwich, however I really don’t think that this will be the case this time around.

Norwich have made very good attacking signings but, they are not firing at all at the moment. You would have to assume Chris Hughton is a very worried man, and that a trip to the Etihad is the last thing he needs at the moment.

City in my honest opinion are way too reliant on Vincent Kompany- and that needs to change quickly. Demichelis and Nastasic looked rocky against Chelsea and this along with the problem of their goalkeeper, this is why City seem to be falling away at the moment.

Playing Pantillimon on Wednesday, he showed that he could cut it with the big boys in this league and I would not be surprised if they didn’t keep him in the starting 11.

Joe Hart is just having a poor run, it happens to the best of goalkeepers, having some time out may be beneficial to him in the long run of things.

Prediction: Man City 3-1 Norwich

Stoke vs Southampton

Southampton have been fantastic this season, they are creating loads of chances and have been monstrous in defence, which has been the very reason why they have barely conceded any goals.

Stoke have been struggling and have not won since the end of August. They should however have beaten Man Utd last weekend, they were excellent in the first half and should have scored 4 or 5. They play well with two up front.

I think they might beat Southampton here, sure Southampton are very tight and a very good side, but Stoke showed signs last week that they are a good team and if they can grind out a performance here, it might have to be in the old school Stoke manner.

Prediction: Stoke 1-0 Southampton.

West Brom vs Crystal Palace

West Brom were totally outclassed by Liverpool last week, and they will definitely be up for this game to bounce back from that.

The only worry for me with The Baggies is the Strikers not seeming to be able to score. Yes, they have midfielders who can score too, but players like Anelka and Anichebe need to start finding their goal scoring touch.

Palace were ok against Arsenal with caretaker manager Keith Millen in charge last week, with a more direct approach and Marouane Chamakh causing the Gunners defence a few problems.

It will be a wait to see who the new manager is and when he is appointed, but until then, Palace will struggle to find a victory in my opinion.

Prediction: West Brom 2-0 Crystal Palace.

West Ham vs Aston Villa

After losing their last two home games, Villa really need a win here away at Upton Park.

They are more comfortable away from home due to their counter-attacking formation and this will definitely aid Paul Lambert’s side in this fixture.

Although West Ham have a striker shortage, not helped by Ricardo Vaz Te’s shoulder problem he suffered last week, they have been ok, getting a decent draw with Swansea away and beating the Championship leaders Burnley in midweek.

They really want Andy Carroll to regain fitness and once he does, I think the Hammers will improve as a team

Prediction: West Ham 1-1 Aston Villa

Arsenal vs Liverpool

On fire at the minute, Liverpool go into this game off the back of a resounding victory against West Brom last week, where all 4 goals were magnificent, and included a Luis Suarez hat-trick.

They are in confident form, however if Arsenal are going to win this game they have to focus on Liverpool’s defensive frailties, as I think that is the weakest part to their game at the minute.

Arsenal will be affected by the loss of Mathieu Flamini due to injury, he has been a real help in their midfield since joining back with them and it is a blow not to have him available.

It will be a tight game. One moment of magic might get the winner in this one. I think Liverpool, with their attacking prowess at the moment might take it as Arsenal, who were a bit sluggish against Chelsea in midweek might still be reeling from that.

Prediction: Arsenal 1-2 Liverpool

Everton Vs Tottenham

Tim Howard was in exceptional form for The Toffees in their last match against Aston Villa, in which Romelu Lukaku went on to inspire them to victory.

These two will also be a big factor in this game too. With Spurs being a better side away from home and with all the quality that they possess in their squad, Everton will need to be on top form.

I don’t think Spurs are scoring enough at the moment, when they do they only seem to come from Soldado penalties, and I don’t think they will score more than one in this game either. It will be tight.

Prediction: Everton 1-1 Tottenham

Cardiff vs Swansea

                                      

The first Welsh derby in the Premier League- This game will be huge for the people of Wales.

A strong rivalry between the two teams serves this one up to be a tasty encounter, one I think Swansea might steal.

They had a difficult start and have more Premier League experience over their Welsh neighbours. This in my opinion will play dividends when it comes to the big match experience.

Cardiff have had a sticky start, and will be cautious about the bottom of the table creeping up on them. They are at home however which might give them a bit of an advantage- it is just up to them whether or not they can take it.

Prediction: Cardiff 1-2 Swansea.

Crystal Palace v Arsenal

Palace’s home defeat by Fulham on Monday night means that The Eagles are now five points from safety going into game week 9. Ian Holloway’s men have showed plenty of spirit, but have lacked the quality to unlock Premier League defences and to keep out Premier League attacks.

Arsenal’s flying start to the season continued as they thumped Norwich 4-1. The match also showcased what The Gunners can do when they get their passing game going as they scored one of the goals of the season, a free-flowing team goal finished by Jack Wilshere.

The two teams could hardly be any more different. Opposite ends of both the table and the form guide, Crystal Palace v Arsenal looks like a mismatch. Palace will give it a good go, as all Ian Holloway’s teams do, but I can’t see them getting a result on Saturday.

Prediction: 1-2

Aston Villa v Everton

Villa suffered their fourth defeat of the 2013/14 campaign at the hands of Spurs last weekend, but more worrying still for manager Paul Lambert is that three of those have come at Villa Park. The Villans will need to get their home form back on track if they are to enjoy a more comfortable season than the last one.

Everton under Roberto Martinez have been more fluent and attack-minded than they were under David Moyes, and have reaped the rewards for their extra endeavour after an unusually bright start, having lost just one of their opening eight fixtures.

The match pits an in-form side against a team struggling for confidence, particularly in front of their own fans, but both have unimpressive defensive records and plenty of goals in their sides, so I can see this being an exciting, and fairly even, game.

Prediction: 2-2

Liverpool v West Brom

Liverpool are looking a dangerous side so far this season, having won five of their opening eight games. The Reds sit third in the table and will want to put even more pressure on the early pace-setters with a win here.

West Brom have again started the season well under Steve Clarke. A creditable draw at home to Arsenal as well as that historic 2-1 win at Old Trafford has The Baggies sitting securely in mid table, though their stubborn defence will have to be at its best to stop the SAS.

Both sides are decent at the back and have plenty of attacking threat, but, while I think it will be close, Liverpool should have enough to grab the three points.

Prediction: 2-1

Manchester United v Stoke

Manchester United have made their worst start to a season in over twenty years, heaping early pressure onto their new manager David Moyes. Looking weak in every area of the pitch so far, the champions will need to improve rapidly if they are to avoid losing their crown before the new year.

The Potters have also endured a rather disappointing start to the season, having lost half of their eight games, and only scoring four goals in the process. Goals were a problem last season under Tony Pulis, but Mark Hughes’ new side has, as yet, been unable to solve the problem.

Given Manchester United’s superior ability and Stoke’s combination of poor away form and lack of goals makes anything less than a home win difficult to predict, but City may be inspired by West Brom’s heroics, and may well make it a good contest.

Prediction: 1-0

Norwich v Cardiff

Norwich spent big on attacking talent in the summer, signing both Gary Hooper and Ricky van Wolfswinkel for a combined fee of around £14 million, but have struggled to impose themselves on teams, winning only two and losing five of their games so far.

Newly-promoted Cardiff will be fairly satisfied with their start to the season. Malky Mackay’s men have bagged both their first home and away wins within the first ten games, which will take some media spotlight off of them for now, and their home ground is proving to be a challenging place for teams to play.

These two sides have not been blessed with goals this season and both seem to be adjusting to their respective styles and systems. This doesn’t look like being a classic, so I’m going for a stalemate.

Prediction: 0-0

Southampton v Fulham

Southampton’s excellent start to the season has seen them beat Liverpool and draw with Manchester United, as well as impressive performances in wins over West Brom, Crystal Palace and Swansea. Mauricio Pochettino’s team have found their feet in the Premier League and look to be on their way to establishing themselves at that level.

Fulham have bounced back from a miserable start to the season with back-to-back victories over Stoke and Crystal Palace. They needed some luck, and some magic, to do so but consecutive wins are not to be sniffed at in the Premier League, and Martin Jol is now in a more comfortable position than he was three weeks ago.

The Saints boast the meanest defence in the Premier League, having conceded just three goals this season, something which cannot be said about their opponents. Fulham have a lot of quality in their side, but they seem unable to handle some of the physical hustle-bustle associated with English football. Even so, they have shown an ability to grind out results. They were dominated in their home match against Stoke, although they won, and they also pulled off a hard-fought 1-0 away win against Sunderland on the first day of the season. Southampton, however, simply look a better side, and I expect them to win here.

Prediction: 1-0

Sunderland v Newcastle

Gus Poyet was given a baptism of fire as he saw his new charges thrashed 4-0 by Swansea last week. He will have realised the size of the task at hand before that game though: Sunderland have made the joint worst start to a Premier League season, taking just one point from eight games.

Newcastle have been very hit-and-miss this season. Impressive performances against Cardiff and Liverpool have been equalled by collapses against Man City and Hull as well as a shambolic first half display against Everton. Alan Pardew does have quality at his disposal, however, which will probably see them through the season safely.

Already, this game is hugely significant for The Black Cats. If they were to lose against their local rivals, it would be a shattering blow to confidence and morale, not to mention the fact that they could easily get cut adrift with the wrong result. I think it will be a really old-fashioned derby game: blood and guts stuff, and a hard-fought point for each at the end.

Prediction: 1-1

Chelsea v Man City

Jose Mourinho’s return to West London signalled a massive increase in expectation amongst the Chelsea fans, and their strong start to the season has only strengthened their belief. Their flair players are performing, and so are their more defensive players, by and large.

Manuel Pellegrini’s new beginning hasn’t been quite as smoothly navigated as Jose’s, but after a dominant 3-1 win at Upton Park last weekend City are back in the top four and look a very dangerous side when their attacking players click.

The Blues are usually imperious at home, and will be under pressure in what is their second big test of the season, after that 0-0 snore draw at Old Trafford was safely passed. Manchester City have been very patchy away from home in general, but in a game of this size you would expect their players to stand up and be counted.

With so many flair players on the pitch, this game has the potential to be a real classic of the Premier League, and I certainly hope it delivers, given that a lot of games between the big guns usually end up as damp squibs.

Prediction: 2-2

Swansea v West Ham

The Swans have again been largely impressive in their build-up play this season, though they seem to be finding scoring goals a little more tricky this term than last. Their results have been steady though, and they sit just below the top ten with what they will view as a winnable home game coming up.

Sam Allardyce’s West Ham have been very up and down this season. They have found goals and indeed chances difficult to come by following Andy Carroll’s injury, though they showed signs of their ability when they won 3-0 at White Hart Lane a couple of weeks ago.

The two teams meet in similar veins of form, but West Ham don’t travel particularly well, and will probably set up quite negatively to avoid defeat. If they snatch a goal then the result may well be a different one, but if Swansea score first I can see this going only one way.

Prediction: 2-0

Tottenham v Hull

Spurs erased the memory of that 3-0 home defeat by West Ham when they created their own away victory last weekend at Villa Park. Andros Townsend was again in electric form, and Tottenham’s defence again looked impressive.

Hull have made a solid start to their first season back in the top flight since 2010, and Steve Bruce has got his team playing an attractive brand of football combined with stoic defending when needed. Most encouraging for The Tigers is that they have beaten the kind of mid-table teams they will need to in order to survive.

Andre Villas-Boas has turned Tottenham into a clean-sheet machine this season. Had they not conceded against West Ham at all they would have the best defensive record in the league and, in truth, they would have deserved it. They look a classy side, but goal-scoring has been a little more difficult for them, and they have struggled at times to get in behind defences. They will have another tough job of it here, as Hull, being the plucky and at times stubborn side they are, will make it difficult for them to score, but I can’t see past a home win on this occasion.

Prediction: 2-0

Newcastle vs Liverpool

The last time that these two sides met at St James’ park Liverpool were rampant, winning 0-6, I don’t think that they will achieve that same score though this time around.

Out of all the signings that Newcastle have made this year, it only seems to be Loic Remy that has made any impact whilst playing for the Toon.

Liverpool will be looking to follow up on their recent good form. They were playing very decent football up until the international break, and I think they will continue that form in this game.

Prediction: Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool

Arsenal vs Norwich

Arsenal were flying high before the international break. They might have been a little worried to see record signing Mesut Ozil limp off against Sweden on Tuesday, but news is he will be fit and ready to play against Norwich on Saturday.

Norwich did well against Chelsea but they were undone in the last 10 minutes. Their unlucky streak will, in my opinion, continue against Arsenal. They are struggling for goals, which is surprising given the amount of attacking options that they have in their team.

Prediction: Arsenal 2-0 Norwich

Chelsea vs Cardiff

Cardiff seem to be in a bit of disarray behind the scenes at the moment with owner Vincent Tan replacing one of Malky Mackay’s main men behind the scenes with a 23 year old, Inexperienced former work experience employee.

It really isn’t what they need as they were doing fine in the League and looked like a very good team, capable of holding their own, but now, it will be interesting if this has an effect on them.

For Chelsea this match shouldn’t be a problem. It has been a mixed start for the club, but hopefully once Jose Mourinho knows his best team, they will settle. They are near the top of the table too, so panic buttons shouldn’t really be pressed just yet.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-0 Cardiff

Everton vs Hull

Hull have been surprisingly better than I expected this campaign, and they haven’t done too badly when it comes to their results either.

They might struggle however against a side in Everton, who only lost their unbeaten start to the season in their last game away at Manchester City.

The likes of Lukaku who scored for Belgium on international duty, and Baines and Jagielka, who will be buoyed by their heroics for England in the break, seem to me will be hard for Hull to contain, although they will give them a good game.

Prediction: Everton 2-1 Hull

Manchester United vs Southampton

This is going to be a tough match for both sides as Man united are very inconsistent at the moment, whilst Southampton are performing very well.

Man United were lucky in their last game against Sunderland, to come away with three points. They would be hoping that coming up against Southampton, they should have a chance to kick start their season, but I don’t think it is going to be that easy.

Prediction: Manchester United 1-1 Southampton

Stoke vs West Brom

                                      

Stoke have stalled a bit after a decent start to the season, losing three on the bounce is not good for confidence at the Britannia.

I know Mark Hughes is trying to change the style of their play, but at the moment nobody in their team wants to stick the ball in the back of the net.

West Brom have shown in recent weeks what a good side they are and, after having a rather poor start to the season, Steve Clarke’s men seem to have put that behind them.

This will be a difficult match for them however, with Stoke not having great firepower at the moment it will be a tight contest.

Prediction: Stoke 1-1 West Brom

Swansea vs Sunderland

Gus Poyet will be in charge of his first game as Sunderland boss.

Coming up against Swansea, who have not won at home in the Premier League this season, will not be the easiest first game in charge.

Poyet will be looking for drive, hunger and most of all a real gutsy performance from his new side as they try and search for their first win of the season. They have Newcastle next week, and they will undoubtedly want to win that one.

All in all I think Swansea will win, but you will definitely see a good reaction from the players in regards to this appointment, which will mean better things to come from this Sunderland side.

Prediction: Swansea 2-0 Sunderland

West Ham vs Man City

West Ham will be cautious coming up against Man City, although in my opinion they shouldn’t have to be.

An amazing and well deserved win at Spurs last time out should give the Hammers all the confidence in the world going into this match against a side in city, who have not played very well away this season.

They have re=signed Carlton Cole on a short term deal, but even with this signing, I feel they need a little more option up front.

The visitors only have one point from three games and will have to get their players to step up in order to see this one out, which I think they should.

Prediction: West Ham 1-2 Man City

Aston Villa vs Tottenham

Villa haven’t had a good record at home against Spurs in recent years, and in my opinion I think that will continue.

Christian Benteke should be back for the Villains after injury, but they cannot keep relying on him, their team needs to pull together to keep villa safe.

Yes, Spurs did lose heavily to West Ham last time out but I think that was just a blip and AVB would have told them to forget about it straight after it happened.

With Andros Townsend doing well for England and everyone else back from international duty, which took their minds off that result, I think this one should result in a victory for Spurs.

Prediction: Aston Villa 1-3 Tottenham

Crystal Palace vs Fulham

Fulham fans still persist on wanting Martin Jol to leave. Sure they might not be playing the best football they have every played, but their result against Stoke last time out proves that they can grind out results, which is all you really need in this league to survive.

Palace have lost 4 games in a row and this is a growing problem that Ian Holloway is facing. They really need to get a result here, but I am not overly sure they will.

Games like these they will be looking at to focus on getting three points to keep ticking along. It is going to be a tough season for the Eagles and will be made tougher if they lose on Monday.

Manchester City vs Everton

Manchester City have lost two games on the bounce following their shock defeat by Aston Villa last weekend and being torn apart by Bayern Munich last Wednesday in the Champions League.

City looked appalling against the German champions, and coming up against Everton, a side who are unbeaten in the league so far this season, will be a struggle to Pellegrini’s team.

Joe Hart has been criticised in the media recently, and his performance Wednesday did not help him out at all. He needs competition for his place, he is playing under no pressure for Manchester City or England for that matter, that is why he isn’t playing to his full capabilities.

Everton are on a bit of a roll. An amazing first half display against a woeful Newcastle this week, showed us what the Toffee’s really can be capable of.

The new signings from the summer are paying off and have been fantastic for Roberto Martinez’s team and have taken to the task of replacing former midfielder Marouanne Fellani brilliantly.

This is a tough game to call, I think Everton may continue their unbeaten start to the season here, but it will definitely be their hardest game so far this campaign.

Prediction: Manchester City 2-2 Everton

Cardiff vs Newcastle

Cardiff had a very good result last week at Fulham and are looking very comfortable at this level. They looked most dangerous from their set pieces and Newcastle will have to be wary of that when they make their trip to Wales.

Newcastle had a shocker in the first 45 minutes at Goodison Park on Monday night. Alan Pardew will be sweating a bit, due to the vast amount of rumours flying around about the safety of his job.

Their second half display brought them some credibility back, mainly from the help of Yohann Cabaye’s introduction. They cannot however always rely on him, after all he nearly left in the Summer.

I don’t think Pardew will get the response from the team that he needs here. Cardiff will be dangerous at home in this league and I don’t think Newcastle have got it in them to break them down.

Prediction: Cardiff 2-1 Newcastle

Fulham vs Stoke

Fulham are under a bad spell not helping Martin Jol’s job security. Losing at home to Cardiff last game really has not helped the pressure being heaped on the manager, so he will be asking for a response from his men against Stoke.

Berbatov and Bent need to start showing their quality in front of goal and, once that happens, I think Fulham will be able to push on and away from the relegation zone.

Stoke will be wanting to bounce back from their home defeat against Norwich last weekend.

Mark Hughes’ team were lacklustre in front of goal and he will be hoping that will change when they visit Craven Cottage this weekend.

Prediction: Fulham 2- 1 Stoke

Hull vs Aston Villa

Hull will be without their key man Robbie Brady for this clash against Villa, which will be a massive blow considering how good he has been at the start of this season.

Steve Bruce has been the defining factor to Hull’s form this season. Making the right changes at the right times and getting the most out of his players. He is experienced at this level and it is paying off no end for the Tigers.

Villa will be buoyed by their win against Manchester City last weekend, albeit thanks to some very sloppy goals. Paul Lambert’s men would like to build on this.

Without Benteke or Agbonlahor playing, Villa proved that they could get a result. This however will be a very tight game and I can only see one goal in it.

Prediction: Hull 1-0 Aston Villa 

Liverpool vs Crystal Palace

Liverpool will have to be a lot better than they were in their last home game if they are wanting anything from this game against Palace.

They were however excellent against a spirited Sunderland side, and with Suarez and Sturridge looking like a lethal partnership in front of goal, things look on the up for Liverpool.

The only problem for Palace is that they are, in my opinion, the weakest team in the league, despite making a host of good signings in the transfer window.

Ian Holloway will be looking to use his passion to drive the players into giving his side a chance at Anfield, but it is going to be difficult.

Prediction: Liverpool 2-0 Crystal Palace

Sunderland vs Manchester United

                                      

Sunderland still have Kevin Ball in charge for this game against the champions. Although he has tried to steady the ship since Di Canio’s departure, I don’t see them winning this game.

They played well against Liverpool last weekend, but lacked that cutting edge that divided the two teams.

United were poor last weekend, and did not help David Moyes by losing at home to West Brom.

They should however bounce back in this game. They have more quality and a better team than Sunderland.

Prediction: Sunderland 1-3 Manchester United

Norwich vs Chelsea

Norwich got a good win at Stoke last weekend and Chris Hughton will be looking at his team to push on from that result, although it will be tough coming up against Chelsea.

They looked very happy to keep the ball and a lot more comfortable than Stoke in their play, so it will be interesting to see if they can keep that up against the blues.

The only problem for Chelsea at the moment and probably will be this season is their striker shortage.

Letting Lukaku go was a mistake, and now with Torres out, Mourinho will need to look to Eto’o, Ba and his midfield to assure goals and I think they will do that.

Prediction: Norwich 1-3 Chelsea

Southampton vs Swansea

Southampton have only lost one of their six games this season and are looking like a very decent team.

Here they are coming up against another very decent team in Swansea City, with both focusing on securing their places and pushing on from there.

Swansea got a good win in the Europa League this week and they will be hoping to develop that into a good run in the Premier League.

This one will be tough to call but I think Swansea could beat Southampton at St Mary’s they have the quality but it is whether they will be tired from their exploits in mid-week.

Prediction: Southampton 1-2 Swansea

Tottenham vs West Ham

Spurs were very good in the first half against Chelsea last week. Their pressure waned in the second half, but in all fairness to them, that was due to a spirited Chelsea performance.

They have so much depth in their squad now and I think AVB will need to utilise it to challenge for the title and win games like these.

West Ham cannot buy a goal at the moment.  They are missing Andy Carroll tremendously, and I don’t think they will be able to cope with the amount of goals Tottenham have in their side.

They do however have strong defensive players, so although I think Spurs will win, the Hammers will be a hard team to break down.

Prediction: Tottenham 2-0 West Ham

West Brom vs Arsenal

West Brom got a fantastic win at Old Trafford last weekend and have already taken the Gunners to a penalty shoot-out in the Capital One Cup this season, where even though they lost, they were pretty decent.

Their new signings have made a good impact and have really helped West Brom to climb out of the relegation places in recent weeks.

Arsenal have won 12 away games on the bounce and look like they are on top form coming into this one.

They played very well against Napoli in mid-week and with the vast amount of talent that they have in midfield, they should pose a very big threat for the Baggies in this game.

It will be a close contest, like it was in the Carling Cup, but I think the result will be the same and I am going to go for an Arsenal win.

Prediction: West Brom 2-3 Arsenal
