Avicii X You: New Music: Official Track and Worldwide Collaboration Surpasses 1,000,000 Hits
Avicii's New Track and Worldwide Collaboration X You
Avicii’s new track and world’s biggest collaboration, X you,
has exceeded the 1,000,000 view mark on the official VEVO YouTube page after
its release on the 26th February.
On January 9th 2013 Avicii launched the world’s
biggest collaboration as he invited the word to become a part of his new track.
The track involves 4199 wannabe producers from 140 countries around the world
that contributed over 12,000 sounds.
The track was spilt into five sections; melody, bass line,
beat/rhyme, break and effects. The collaboration allowed you to pick which
submissions were selected in the final track.
Each category consisted of three finalists and the melody
winner with 1366 votes was Kian Sang from Stockholm, Sweden. Hans Bengtsson and Volkan Talayhan finished third
in this category with Dave La Terra coming second with 741 votes. The Bassline
used came from Naxsy after receiving 629 votes, ahead of Carmine Spera with 299
votes. Martin Kupilas from Leeds, UK, contributed the Beat/ Rythem with his
entry receiving 49 votes more than second place Marcus Timm. The official break
used came from ВАНЯ ХАКСИ of Dnipropetrovsk, Ukraine, with the three finalists supplying
the official effects consisting of Jonathan Madray, Mateusz Kolata, and
Christian Westphalen.
All of the submissions and finalists entry samples can be listened
to from the official X You website:- http://www.aviciixyou.com/
Overall the final track is very impressive. The melody and
beat fit perfectly together to form a very catchy and addictive tune. Avicii’s
recent chart success with the song ‘I Could Be the One’ (original song called ‘Nicktim’
before lyrics were added) after his collaboration with Dutch producer Nicky
Romeo has reinforced the Swedish producer’s current popularity. Watch this space because I’m sure we could
have another chart hit from Avicii on our hands here. I suspect before long there
is a possibility that there could be a lyrical collaboration to accompany the
finished track, helping it to then storm the charts.
